Gran Fondo, Turkey Trot, NS Overlord and more!
Over the past year Tommy's has been very busy supporting many organizations with fundraising and putting on events with tighter budgets. Some of our community involvement has included the following:
- Thanksgiving Monday the Turkey Trot volunteers and racers will enjoy a fantastic breakfast on Granville Island.
- In September the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, which is a conservation event started by the Vancouver Aquarium 17 years ago, had a large number of volunteers cleaning the shores at Belcarra Bay, Belcarra Park and White Pine Beach. Tommy's donated a thank you barbecue for over 60 volunteers for their efforts.
- The first ever NS Overlord Bike Race had a spectacular barbecue for its volunteers and participants that was put on by Tommy's Catering.
- The RBC Gran Fondo had a phenomenal number of volunteers who worked very hard for more than a week to plan and execute the ride from Vancouver to Whistler. Tommy's proudly kept them nourished with some fabulous food.
- The Arts Club Theatre hosts a number of donor appreciation events and volunteer events that Tommy's supports to give back to the Arts community.
- Every year Tommy's donates certificates to the Capilano University new student orientation.
- The Knee Knacker is a fantastic event that raised over $4000 for the North Shore Search and Rescue. Tommy's feeds over 300 racers and volunteers and they love coming back for seconds and some for third helpings. They have definitely earned it after that length of race.
- Lynn Valley Community Association Gala dinner in May was a fantastic success and a lot of fun. Seeing so many familiar faces of clients and friends. Be sure to buy your tickets early in 2012 so you don't miss out on such a fun community event. Celebrate 100 years of the Lynn Valley Day parade!
